ON1 has come a long way and stands as a model of our unwavering commitment to providing you with a world-class photo editing experience at an extremely great value. That is what photography is and always will be at ON1. Photography is here for you to tell your stories, preserve memories, unwind, forge new connections, rekindle old friendships, and unlock a world of limitless possibilities, not creating fake images. Our AI strategy will always put the photographer first and I want to make that clear. These new AI-based technologies are for helping you save time and give you superior results, not to replace YOU, the photographer. We are using AI to solve real-world problems photographers face today in their post-production workflows. As exciting as AI is, it also brings a lot of unknowns to the photography space. Most recently, our noise reduction, upscaling, sharpening, organizing, and masking breakthroughs are the beginning of a new chapter for ON1. It is so satisfying to look back at the remarkable progress and innovation the ON1 team has built into our software over the years. ![]() ![]() From cameras to software, everything has seen change. The photo industry has seen some big changes over the last 18 years. In June of 2005, we embarked on the ON1 journey with a vision of providing photographers like yourself more time behind the camera and less time editing the photos you cherish. It brings me great joy to express my gratitude for your continued support of the ON1 photography community over the last 18 years. Hello everyone, Craig Keudell, CEO of ON1 here.

10/23/2023 0 Comments Stop making sense once in a lifetime![]() While Talking Heads stopped doing live performances after that tour (barring a one-off reunion at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2002), "Once in a Lifetime" remains a staple of Byrne's live performances as a solo act, with two new live renditions appearing on both Saturday Night Live and the American Utopia concert film in 2020. In 1984, a live recording of "Once in a Lifetime" was released, taken from the Speaking in Tongues tour to promote their Concert Film and Live Album Stop Making Sense the film's depiction of the song was used as an impromptu music video for the live single. Appearing as part of the network's debut broadcast on Aug(specifically being their 64th video), MTV quickly placed it in heavy rotation throughout the year, making it one of the first videos to achieve that distinction and encouraging Talking Heads to continue exploring the music video as an artistic extension of their music. While the physical single stiffed (just barely making the Bubbling Under chart), the music video quickly found a home on a fledgling network by the name of MTV. Like the music, Byrne's moves in the video were improvised by the man himself, with Basil singling out the ones she thought worked best the pair would collaborate again for a music video for "Crosseyed and Painless", without any of the band members on-camera this time. ![]() Directed by choreographer Toni Basil and Byrne himself, the low-budget video depicted Byrne as a sweaty, neurotic preacher, clad in a suit and glasses, performing various odd rituals, and reciting the song's lyrics against various Chroma Key backdrops. ![]() ![]() A music video was also shot to promote the track, the first in Talking Heads' careers. The end result was a track radically different from Talking Heads' norm, combining the post-punk and Afrobeat core with elements of Hip-Hop and Gil Scott-Heron-esque conscious poetry.ĭuring Remain in Light's promotional cycle, "Once in a Lifetime" was picked as the album's leadoff single in 1981, following a promotional release of "Crosseyed and Painless". Eno cobbled together a chorus melody through scat singing, while Byrne took influence from televangelists and radio preachers to create a mock sermon about the ennui of middle class capitalist life. Eno initially found the jam difficult to flesh out, but Byrne liked the song enough to turn it into something bigger. Keeping in line with the album's improvisational approach, "Once in a Lifetime" was born from a jam between band members and married couple Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, who respectively interjected nonsense syllables and turned those shouts into a bass riff. Like the rest of the album, the song was born out of the band and producer Brian Eno's growing interest in Afrobeat, Eno and frontman David Byrne having already taken heavy influence from the genre with their collaborative album My Life in the Bush of Ghosts (which was still awaiting sample clearances). "Once in a Lifetime" is a song by American Post-Punk/ New Wave Music band Talking Heads, originally released through Sire Records on their 1980 album Remain in Light. 10/23/2023 0 Comments Best songs to sing along to 2015Slade were glam-rock godheads in their native England, but they struggled to replicate their success across the Atlantic. 56: Quiet Riot: Cum on Feel the Noize (Slade) Raitt was one of many artists who enjoyed more commercial success by covering John Prine than Prine ever did singing his own songs, but that’s to take nothing away from his original recording of “Angel from Montgomery,” which ranks as one of his very best compositions. “I think ‘Angel from Montgomery’ probably has meant more to my fans and my body of work than any other song,” Bonnie Raitt once said, so it might come as a surprise to learn that Raitt did not compose it. 57: Bonnie Raitt: Angel from Montgomery (John Prine) ![]() What if post-army Elvis had stuck to covering songsworthy of his talents? One of the most common controversies swirling around whiskey isn’t about the best overall brand or the smoothest pour-it’s all about whiskey stones. 10/23/2023 0 Comments Total asset turnover ratio![]() Generally, third parties like investors and creditors use this ratio. For instance, a ratio of 0.5 indicates that each rupee of asset generates Rs.0.5 of sales. In other words, this ratio evaluates the company’s gross revenue to the average total number of assets to know how much sales were generated from every rupee of company assets. It measures the company’s ability to generate revenue from its assets. ![]() You guys go right ahead into the problem and you try and solve it before watching the next video. The asset turnover ratio is an efficiency ratio that compares the company’s sales to its asset base. So why don't we go ahead and calculate some are away? Let's use this new information and calculate our away, uh, by using profit margin and total asset turnover. So if you see a net loss, that's generally not a good thing, right? We want to be making money, not losing money. Right? We're always gonna have some positive assets only Net income can be a negative number. We can't have negative average total assets. Right? Because we can't have negative sales sales is always a positive number. So when can we get a negative are away? Well that's the same thing when we have a negative a net loss. That's why we talk profitability and um and efficiency above. First increase our profit margin, our profitability or we can increase our total asset turnover. So our multiplication will be a bigger number. Is going to go up because this first multiplication is going to be a bigger number or we can increase our total asset turnover, right? Because the second number is going to be a bigger number. First we can increase our profit margin right? By increasing our profit margin. Now we have two ways to increase our our away. It tells us how we can increase our our away. So why don't we just calculate our return on assets straight up? Why do we need to go through these extra steps? We'll notice what it does tell us. So that's why this equals our return on assets. So what's left net income in the numerator, average total assets in the denominator. Well look, when we do this multiplication, we've got net income divided by net sales and the net sales is in the numerator, net sales in the denominator? We'll remember from algebra when something is in the numerator and the denominator, they cancel out. Okay, So what does this tell us? Right, well, before we get into the last thing here, notice why this equals each other, right? Net income over average total assets. ![]() So the total asset turnover turnover tells us how many dollars of sales we earn per dollar of total assets owned. And how do we turn those assets into sales? Right. So we gotta we gotta maintain a level of assets for business to function properly. Well that tells us for each dollar of assets, right? For each dollar of the denominator, how much of the numerator we get. Right? So the profit margin tells us how much at the end of the day we keep for each dollar we sell and then the second one total asset turnover. So we when we sell something to a customer we'll we gotta pay for it cost a good sold operating expenses, interest, all the things we pay for. That's our top of the income statement and net income, that's the bottom of the income statement. It tells us how much net income we get for each dollar of sales, right? How much of the numerator per one of the denominator? So how much net income per dollar of sales. So our profit margin is this first ratio net income divided by net sales? That's tells us so look below the profit margin. ![]() And when we multiply them together, it gives us a return on assets. So those are two other ratios that we learn about. Is going to be equal to the profit margin, times the total asset turnover. Well we're gonna break it up into two ratios. Net income divided by average total assets. So when we first discussed our way, that's how we learned it. Remember that are away? We learned it as net income over average total assets. So this gives us a little more information of how we derive our our away and how we decompose it. If not you're gonna learn about them here. You might have learned about these already. We learned about profitability and we learn about efficiency with this ratio and we'll see why once we decompose it a little better so we can break up the R. Well we learned about two things with it. Remember our away it measures the income a company gets company earns based on the amount of assets it maintains. So we've learned about the return on assets before now, we're gonna decompose that ratio a little bit and get better information. 10/22/2023 0 Comments Movist showing in tyler tx![]() The Azalea Residential Historic District is a great place to take a stroll, admire the architecture, and learn about the history of Tyler. ![]() It looks best in spring when the flowers are in bloom.
